Flow of the presence

Moses and the people of God moved from place to place. They followed the pillar of fire

and the pillar of cloud in order to follow God. He is not static. He is always moving. Even before creation we find Him hovering over everything and moving around. He is always on the go.

Lets have a look at some of the movement in heaven.

9 and the wings of one touched the wings of another. Each one went straight ahead; they did not turn as they moved.

24 When the creatures moved, I heard the sound of their wings, like the roar of rushing waters, like the voice of the Almighty, like the tumult of an army. When they stood still, they lowered their wings. Ezekiel 1

In heaven there is movement of momentum. A movement of unity. Those heavenly beings are moving together in unison to fulfill the purpose of God. His plan is coming to fruition and everyday it comes nearer. This oneness of heart requires no obvious leader of a creature for all are flowing so closely with the winds of the Spirit that they flow together. This army under its commander works completely differently than any army seen before.

God’s Spirit is like the wind and like rushing waters, flowing and accomplishing what it desires. God’s word is being spoken and never returns empty. The Father is forever giving out gifts to his children and creating new things. Jesus is forever interceding for us. The angels go to and fro with God’s bidding. The saints are falling in worship and the great cloud of witnesses are cheering us on. Heaven is not a static place. It is full of life.

I used to feel that when I worshiped and then came back the next day I could start where I left off. It was as if heaven had almost stood still waiting for me to come back. I guess it is a little like magic toys that can only come to life when I came to play. Heaven is not going to stop whilst I disengage myself for a while – the movement continues. Each day we move closer to Jesus’ return than the next so every day will never be like the one before. I think perhaps heaven is more like the song in Pocahontas (click here to listen to it). She describes the sensation of stepping into a river. You never step in the same river twice because when you step into it again the water you first stepped into has now passed down stream and fresh water has now taken its place.

When we come to worship God and partake in heaven we need to approach it with an active spirit ready to assimilate ourselves into what is going on in heaven. It is a stance of action, purpose and unity. What an exciting place! What a privilege!

Filled in His presence

Water ball

18 Don’t be drunk with wine, because that will ruin your life. Instead, be filled with the Holy Spirit Ephesians 5:18 (NLT)

Be filled with the Holy Spirit. What does that mean? It means we are not filled with us.

Filled to the full = fulfilled. If we are ever fulfilled with ourselves, what we do, with what we have achieved how can we rely on God? There is nothing inside us with any capacity to host the Holy Spirit

Why would we ever rely on God if we have enough resources for our lives? Why and wait for Gods presence if we can rely on our own judgement and wisdom?

Today: Are you filled with you? Be filled with the Holy Spirit

Freedom and Creativity

“See, I have chosen Bezalel son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah, and I have filled him with the Spirit of God, with wisdom, with understanding, with knowledge and with all kinds of skills— to make artistic designs for work in gold, silver and bronze,  to cut and set stones, to work in wood, and to engage in all kinds of crafts Exodus 31:2-5

This is first time that we see someone as being described as being filled with the Holy Spirit in the bible.  He was filled with all wisdom, ability and expertise in all kinds of crafts in the Holy Spirit. When was this expressed? After freedom had come. Freedom looked like an individual overflowing with decisions and choices, these choices created something from heaven – a spiritual beauty on earth.

There is something about freedom that causes people to find their core identity from which they can express themselves fully. We were made in the creator’s image and when we express our true selves it is full of creativity. We were beautifully and wonderfully made so what we create in the spirit reflects this like a mirror.

Bezalel was filled with the Holy Spirit for practical skills, gifts and knowledge. It wasn’t for experience but for expression. We find the same explosion of expression and release when we speak in tongues. It wasn’t for abstract intensity but for a supernatural reality. It was for ….

  1. Creating beauty out of the ordinary
  2. Skilled engraving –making a mark, writing lasting words, impacting lives with permanence
  3. Mounting gemstones –taking a rock from the dirt, seeing potential, honing it patiently, bringing out its beauty and then put in the best place to show its glory
  4. Working with gold, silver and bronze -adapting to different metal  resistance and properties and bringing the best out of each material
  5. Carving wood  -working with that which people think as base and plain and make out of it something of beauty

First we need to find our core identity. Until we know what this we cannot express who we really are. Who are you and what are you all about?

Today: Start a discovery to the core of your being. Become filled with wonder as you find out who you really are.

The House of Grace children sing for Mother's Day

The House of Grace children sing for Mother’s Day

Yesterday we flew back on the plane from Palawan to Manila. We were delayed by 2 hours so arrived just gone 3pm after having left the hotel at 9.30am. We were scheduled to meet with groups in the afternoon and evening. I met with the New Day and we talked about being loved, walking with God and leaning into his presence. We spent some time hearing his voice and practically learning how to prophecy. I then wanted them to just relax in God’s love and learn to lean in to hear him and feel his presence. As I sung and we started to worship the presence of God came down very heavily. We sang in the Spirit but a lot of the time we just sat. It was a precious time together. Trevor spent time with a leadership discipleship group sharing heart on being intimate with God. He says he had a good time with them. In the evening I had the privilege to spend time with the worship group for a meal. I shared heart on what God was doing in the church at the moment. The importance of learning to rest in God presence and soak him up. It was a beneficial time. I gave Eden and Fe the book ‘Culture of Honour’ after we first arrived in Manila and she said she can’t put it down it is blowing her mind. It is all she dreamt the church should be like. Trevor wasn’t with me that night as his stomach is not good – so please pray for him. This morning we met with the church in Manila. It was lovely seeing everyone again and I was very excited as to what God would do. Fe lead a great time of praise and worship, Trevor preached a good word about meeting God face to face. It isn’t enough to hear his voice we need to press in until we meet with Him face to face like Moses did. I then sang ‘I see your face its beautiful’ and again the spirit came and started to touch lives. We prayed and ministered to those who wanted to press in further. God is so good and loving. After all this we had a media presentation and song by the children as it is mother’s day here. We all got a fold away fan and chocolate!! It was lovely and very touching. Then came the photos!! How New Day love having their photo taken!

Elephants don’t forget

I am not suggesting we should all become like elephants – but they never forget!!

At the moment you read this I will be on an adventure to the Philippines. I am going to keep on writing to catch up with all that God has placed on my heart to share. I want you to continue the journey as I am on mine 🙂

If I can I will add extra blogs into the ones I have written for each day. You will have to excuse any typos or communication bumbles as I have had to write them up in advance.

We have already seen that Psalms 78 is a poetical version of the children of Israel’s adventure. Psalms 78:42-55 is all about the lack of the people of God to remember all God had done for them.  Asaph lists of things God had done and that  the people had forgotten. They forgot about their freedom from slavery, the plagues, the crossing the red sea and all the mighty miracles God performed.

I have been challenged recently by God  to write down all the healings I have seen. I was shocked as I started to write  how many I had forgotton about and how many I could recall. I am excited that I God is moving so powerfully in our generation that healings are becoming more and more common. I have now been challenged to write all the people I have seen change, all the times God has provided what I needed and all the outstanding prophecies that I have heard. This is still a job in process.

I would like to share one from last year. On my first trip to the Philippines. The leader of the church had a large gall stone and the hospital was loosing hope that it would move. A friend on mine had just ‘passed’ a small one and told me of the excruciating pain it caused him for days. He promptly showed it me in a glass bottle (LOL). Anyway back to the story. My Philipino friend, a mighty man of God, knew that it was going to cost over £500 for the lazer treatment the hospital were now advising him to have. I laid hands on him and prayed and on his next trip to the specialist the week later they were surprised as they couldn’t find anything. He was surprised as he hadn’t felt anything. They insisted on checking him again to make sure!!

Self made rainbow, made in home garden.

The other story I love from the Philippines is the word from God the group were given before we left. We were told that ” As you sing a rainbow will appear over your heads. As people walk through the rainbow their heaviness will go and their lives will be full of colour.” On the first Sunday the group sang together in front of the congregation and one of the older men came up to me afterwards to speak to me. He told me that as we were singing he saw a rainbow appear over the whole group. He knew nothing of the word given to us back in England.

God is good. He is faithful

Today: List all the times God has been faithful to you. All the times you have seen a miracle, provision or fulfilment of a word. These are your stories that will be a springboard of faith to greater things.

The call to unshackled worship

I remember the first time I danced before God. It was in a Spring Harvest meeting 1984

English: freedom in the rain.

and I was sat a long way back. The song was ‘I get so excited Lord every-time i realise I’m forgiven’ It was a battle of wills for me but knew if I was excited I couldn’t sing the words standing still. I felt so embarrassed to start with and then a freedom burst inside that I had never felt before. I stopped taking myself quite so seriously. It was a breakthrough in truth that still causes me to dance even now.

“This is what the Lord says: Let my people go, so that they may worship me.” Exodus 8

The Israelites were  eventually given freedom by Pharaoh  in order that they could go and worship their God. They were not randomly allowed to go free – there was a reason, a purpose. Our primary call, our purpose in being free, is to worship God.  Lets use our freedom to worship God with unshackled hearts and hands.

In the story Pharaoh didn’t like this ‘free’ worship – he wanted to restrict and control the worship the people brought their God. He perhaps felt threatened that the people thought there was someone higher, greater and more powerful than he. It must have hurt his ego somewhat. He agreed to let God’s people go to worship Him but he tried to lay down guidelines in which to restrict them

  •  Ex 8:25 go sacrifice to God in this land

This is worship with not much effort or movement. There is no change to the position of what they are doing already. This keeps complete control on the activity.

  •  Ex 8:28 don’t go far away

This is worship with tight restrictions. You can worship a little way off but don’t go mad you still have tight limitations as to what you can do.

  •  Ex 10 :11 Go now you who are men

This worship is not inclusive of the whole family. It lacks united generations, enthusiasm of the young, wisdom of the old, practicality of the experienced and dreams of those starting out.  It lacks unity, togetherness and therefore power! It is only half a family encouraged to worship.

  •  Ex 10: 24 Let your flocks be held back

This is worship of our body only but doesn’t include the sacrifice of our money or time. If we withhold our finances and belongings our hearts are severely restricted in overflow and abandonment.

Let us use our freedom to worship God with crazy overflow. To go all the way. To do what we feel God telling us to do – no matter what. This is what we were set free for.

Today: Is there any expression of worship that you struggle with or do not express? Eg lying prostrate, dancing, giving, standing on your chair, etc. decide that you will not be held back any longer but you will make full use of your freedom to bring all your worship

Re-tuning our hearts to heaven’s melody

English: Nut of a violin Deutsch: Sattel einer...

I would like to share a little about the purpose of the wilderness adventure and then a vision I had on Wednesday night in his presence.

 Purpose

When I was a child I thought that the wilderness was about having no food or water. A place of dryness, hunger and harsh testing. As I read all about the Children of Israel now I see a Father who provided water, food in love and who was calling his children to spend time with him to get to know him.  The wilderness is about a Father training his children and desiring heart change.

“He didn’t bring us out of Egypt in order to camp out in the wilderness, but to take us into the promised land of ever-expanding life in the knowledge of him” Face to Face with God Bill Johnson

There is a saying God took his people out of Egypt but then had to take the Egypt out his people. The Children of Israel were so stuck in ways of slavery, oppression and captivity that they had a mind set that need changing. They needed to re-learn sonship, love, honour, trust, adventure etc.

“The giving of the Law at Mount Sinai was intended to facilitate the process by which Israel would unlearn the thinking of Egypt and learn how to walk in their new identity as priests of the Lord. In describing what he required of them God was unveiling His holy and righteous nature, which they would need to emulate in order to walk in relationship with Him. ” Face to Face with God Bill Johnson

We, the church, for centuries have been on a journey of  increasing desire for freedom. With the move of the spirit 25 years ago hearts have changed and we have started to journey out of Egypt into a place of water and freshness, now God is retraining our thinking and understanding. For us, this adventure is not about where we are going, but about a Father training his children and sharing heart with them. It is about getting time out to see what is on the Father’s hear and learning to understand our relationship with Him.  It is about re-aligning our hearts up with the truths of heaven and re-tuning our voice to agree with what God says. It is a transformation of heart and mind and soul.

Vision

As a child we were shown videos about keeping healthy at school  which included investigations of a smokers lung full of tar and  the damaged kidney of an alcoholic. The organs were wrecked, full of gunk and not malleable. God showed me a picture of a heart that looked like these damaged organs . It was stiff and not able to function as it was created due to pollution, damage and lack of care. It was not able to love or to be loved as it was made to be. He then showed me the most beautiful hollow wooden oval encasing with one violin string. He talked to me about the process of re- aligning my heart to him. The fact that my heart has taken on lies and wrong ways of thinking. It has taken on pollutants of my thought life, habits and damaging situations. He wants to wash it all out with  his life waters and  bring a new way of being.

I have always loved lying in God’s presence and waiting for him. Although I don’t revel in the term soaking ( 🙂 ), I do think that the act of just resting in God’s presence is essential (especially during this season). It not only provides time of enjoying the Father’s love and deepening your relationship with him – it also provides time for God to re-align your heart, wash away pollution with His Spirit and repair damaged parts of you. This process cannot be rushed – it takes time.

I desire that my heart will become like a single violin string – re-tuned to heavens

frequency. Free to move and respond with every touch. So in tune with God He need only breath and my heart with resonate with heavens song.  Free from distortion, pollution and damage. My heart will respond to his voice, vibrate with passion for Him and live for His glory. I am just one string – and I need you to make a fuller sound. He is re-aligning the heart of the church around the world to vibrate with the sound of heaven. As we all start to play the tunes from above we find we are playing the same music across the land and a global orchestra is born. The sound of those whose hearts sing heavens melody will fill the atmosphere, change the airspace until the whole world can hear heavens  song!
